Game Recap: Saints pick up critical win over Cardinals to stay in playoff hunt Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Arizona is officially knocked out of the playoff race so they may start to let Fitz and Boldin rest up to prevent any serious injury in garbage games. Boldin did play however and had 83 yards, while Fitz had 27 yards and a score .Keep an eye on the news to see if their status has changed. Drew Brees (315 yards, 2 TD), Marques Colston (114 yards 1 TD), and Aaron Stecker (95 yards rushing, 2 TD) all had strong games and continue to do well in their push for the playoffs. NO has a favorable matchup against the lowly Bears in Week 17, so keep that matchup in mind. |

Game Recap: Spurlock's historic return ignites Bucs over limp Falcons Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Atlanta has clearly given up after Petrino’s midnight run and you should probably do the same if you own any Falcons at this point. Tampa didn’t have to do too much on offense, with Michael Spurlock and Ronde Barber putting in TDs from the DEF/ST. Tampa’s D is getting stronger by the week, and is a great play in Week 16 (SF) and Week 17 (CAR). Garcia (119 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) looks healthier, but not yet 100%, still with the remaining schedule he could be a valuable QB to have for your playoff/championship run. Earnest Graham (119 total yards, 1 TD) continues his surprisingly solid season and there’s no reason to suggest that will change anytime soon. |

Game Recap: Oh no -- longer; Dolphins top Ravens in OT for first victory Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Well Miami has finally done it thanks to gutless coaching by soon-to-be ex-coach Brian Billick. Not too much fantasy relevancy on either of these two teams going into the playoffs. Kyle Boller went down with an injury and 2006 Heisman winner Troy Smith came in to lead the Ravens back into the game. Boller should be ok to play this week, but not for anyone’s fantasy team. Cleo Lemon (315 yards, 1 TD) was the only positive in terms of fantasy output here, and he has a favorable matchup in Week 17 against the pitiful Bengals D. Keep an eye for him if you’re dealing with a QB from a team that has already made the playoffs. |

Game Recap: Browns move within victory of first playoff bid in five years Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
In the blinding snow, Jamal Lewis was the only real star of this game with 33 rushes for 163 yards. Buffalo really had nothing going at all, as evidenced by the donut on their side of the scoreboard. The best performance on their side was Marshawn Lynch with 82 yards, but no Buffalo receiver had more than 36 yards receiving. Buffalo has both their remaining games in northern weather, and I would not start anyone on their team apart from Lynch next week. Jamal Lewis and the other top Browns players should be started for sure next week - they play the awful Bengals, who made San Francisco's third string QB look like a star. |

Game Recap: Favre sets yards mark as Packers throttle Rams Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Favre got his yardage record, and did it in style with 227 yards, 2 TD's, and 2 INT's. Greg Jennings was once again the top fantasy receiver with 66 yards and a TD, although Donald Driver had a nice game with 80 receiving yards. Favre's other TD went to Donald Lee, who had only that one catch for 4 yards. Otherwise, continue to stick with Ryan Grant, as he scored another TD despite rushing for only 55 yards on 18 attempts. Green Bay's next game is against the Bears, whose defense has been porous against the run. Bulger was back in the game for St. Louis, and his performance was marginal against a good Packers defense. Steven Jackson went nuts for 170 total yards and a TD, showing that he is once again healthy. His matchup next week is awful, though - against a Pittsburgh defense looking to regain their swagger after getting run over all day by the Jags. |

Game Recap: Taylor, Garrard help power Jaguars to stout win in Pittsburgh Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Fred Taylor is a man on a mission - he rushed for 147 yards and a TD against one of the league's toughest run defenses. Maurice Jones-Drew did pretty well with 99 total yards, but no TD - Jacksonville is definitely trying to get Taylor to the Pro Bowl. Garrard was his normal consistent self, but he did have 3 TD's - and 2 of them went to recievers getting less than 25 total yards (Reggie Williams and Ernest Wilford). The only great receiving performance was made by Dennis Northcutt, who had 81 yards and a score. On the Pittsburgh side, Willie Parker did about average with 109 total yards and no TD. Roethlisberger had a decent day with 146 yards, 3 TD's and no INT's, but his TD's all went to guys with less than 40 yards receiving (Hines Ward, Heath Miller, and Nate Washington). Pittsburgh does have a favorable matchup next week against St. Louis, though. |

Game Recap: Pats hang on vs. Jets in Spygate rematch, clinch home field Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Bad news all around in this game - Brady didn't throw a TD, Moss had 79 yards but no TD, Kellen Clemens was knocked into next season on his first pass attempt, and the defenses/special teams scored more TD's (2) than the offenses (1). The Jets kept this game much closer than expected, but don't get too excited about them doing well this season - they can't punch it in once they get to the red zone. Laurence Maroney finally had that game his owners have been waiting for, with 26 rushes for 104 yards. If your league awards points for rushing attempts, it would be a good idea to start him next week, as the Cheatriots will be playing at home once again. Their next game is against Miami, who suddenly has no pressure to do anything now that they won a game. |

Game Recap: Fourth QB the charm as Moore leads Panthers over Seahawks Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Well, it's official - the Seahawks rushing attack is dead. Matt Hasselbeck didn't blow anyone away, but his performance was still worth having (274 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT). Deion Branch and Bobby Engram look like solid plays next week against the Ravens. Steve Smith played well with 72 receiving yards (below what he's capable of, but he has nobody to throw him the ball). DeAngelo Williams was the only other Carolina player worth having, with 72 total yards and a TD. Matt Moore did alright with 208 yards (0 TD, 0 INT), but I wouldn't touch him against Dallas next week. |

Game Recap: Titans hand Chiefs seventh straight loss, stay alive in playoff hunt Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Despite the loss, Brodie Croyle did alright with 217 yards, 2 TD's and 2 INT's. Vince Young finally got through a game without an interception, and his numbers were reasonable (191 yards, 2 TD's, 32 yards rushing). Of note was that Roydell Williams was the recipient of both those TD passes, while he had 4 catches for 94 yards. No other Tennessee receiver had a noteworth performance. For the Cheifs receivers, Dwayne Bowe had the top yardage total with 64, but Sammie Parker had 33 yards and a TD to get more points. LenDale White had 93 yards rushing, and he plays the Jets at home next week - sounds like a definite start. Kolby Smith did pretty well also, with 18 rushes for 82 yards, and he's up in the Detroit dome for the fantasy super bowl week. |

Game Recap: Browns hold off pesky Jets to avoid upset in rainy New York Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Indy has officially put it in cruise control. They are already locked in at the #2 seed in the AFC and it shows. Manning (276 yards, 1 TD) is still trying to get some chemistry going with his depleted WR corps. Addai didn’t get much done against a terrible Oakland run D, and might be seeing less playing time in Weeks 16 and 17 to rest him up for the playoffs. Anthony Gonzalez (86 yards, 1 TD) was the biggest mover here, and he will probably put in a similar performance in Week 16. Keep and eye on the Indy starters to see whether they plan to play now that their playoff fate is decided. On a side note, the Huggy Bear express went down with a knee injury, so look to Rhodes or Jordan to fill his shoes. |

Game Recap: Cutler, Young power Broncos in rout of slumping Chiefs Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
When your backup RB (Darren Sproles, 122 yards, 2 TDs) gains more yards than your starter (LT, 116 yards, 2 TDs) you know you’re rolling. Detroit was dominated in every single way here. The Detroit passing game still produced as they were down 17 points by the end of the first quarter, and are ok to start if you need them, but that running game is a mystery. Kevin Jones and TJ Duckett are untouchable right now. Antonio Gates (1 catch, 8 yards) played, but he wasn’t asked to do much, so hopefully his back will be fully healed for your championship run. |

Game Recap: Patriots return to dominant form as Brady, Moss approach records Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
If you lived by Tony Romo (214 yards, 3 INTs), you just died by Tony Romo. At least Witten had his standard 100 yard game. The Dallas running game was abandoned for some reason, and Philly played a smart game plan to keep Dallas from wrapping up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Maybe they played too smart for their own good if you ask Westbrook (144 total yards) owners after that kneel down on the 1 yards line. McNabb played ok, and might be a decent plug in that’s available on waivers if you’re in need of a QB. |

Game Recap: Colts clinch playoff berth by routing reeling Ravens Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Clinton Portis (126 yards rushing, 1 TD) took the game on his shoulders and delivered a great performance. Brandon Jacobs (130 rushing yards) looks good to go for the late stretch. Jeremy Shockey sustained another injury, a season ending broken leg. The NYG Passing game is in tatters as is Manning’s confidence. Play Plaxico because of his big game potential, but only if you have no other options. |

Game Recap: Peterson, Minnesota beat Chicago to stay in control of wild-card spot Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Tavares Jackson has been improving, but not enough that the Viking should have thrown more than they ran in the first half. After Jackson turned the ball over four times, the Vikes finally went to ADP (78 rushing yards, 2 TDs) to seal the deal against a hapless Bears team. The fantasy fallout here? Chester Taylor (5 carries, 31 yards) looks to be done in Minny now that ADP is healthy and they are pushing for the playoffs. ‘B’drian Peterson (77 total yards) is not starting material because of the ineptitude of the Chicago offense. |
