Game Recap

Game Recap: Romo throws four TDs as Favre watches Cowboys top Packers

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Favre took a shot to his elbow and separated a shoulder, but more concerning was his frequent downfield heaves in the early stages of the game. With the weather turning uglier, Favre can’t afford to start getting sloppy. He should be fine to play against Oakland, but Aaron Rodgers showed he is more than capable as a backup. Ryan Grant did another great job, and is an every week starter at this point. Marion Barber was the cleanup man again in the 4th quarter. With Dallas’ remaining schedule, MB3 could see some good stats when the Boys are wrapping up big wins. TO and Romo were stellar once again.

Game Recap: Frerotte's hot first half leads Rams to first home victory

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Jerious Norwood was more productive than Dunn in this one and may see some more carries as the Falcons continue to play through another lost season. Roddy White is quickly turning into a premier WR, and with Chris Redman coming in in relief of a shaky Harrington, his numbers could increase. Alge Crumpler even showed up, what a difference a QB makes. Speaking of tenuous QB situations, Torry Holt will do well with or without Bulger, good news for you in your playoff push.

Game Recap: Gibbs' gaffe helps Bills sneak past emotionally drained Redskins

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Fred Jackson ran with a purpose and contributed in the passing game filling in for Anthony Thomas and Marshawn Lynch, and is a great pickup. Trent Edwards, the latest starter in the Buffalo QB carousel did what was asked and didn't lose the game. Clinton Portis struggled to get his 2.0 ypc in this one primarily because FB Mike Sellers was out with an injury. If Sellers doesn't get back to full speed, Portis could have more like this down the stretch. This just in: Chris Cooley is still the only ownable Washington receiving threat.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Returning Peterson, peaking Vikings run all over fading Lions

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Adrian Peterson is back, and just as good as before. Start him and enjoy your playoff run. Chester Taylor got some good looks in this one once it was out of reach, but with Peterson healthy, Taylor’s looks will once again go back to the 10-15 carry range and few red zone looks. Tavares Jackson was solid for the second week in a row, and is becoming a good game manager (but not relevant in fantasy terms yet). Roy Williams was likely lost for the year, bump up Furrey, McDonald and Johnson accordingly. Mike Martz continues to baffle with his playcalling, meaning Kevin Jones is unusable in all but the most desperate situations.

Game Recap: Young uses arm to help Titans end three-game skid

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Matt Schaub got knocked out of the game for the second time this season against the Titans. He may play in Week 14 however, stay posted. Ron Dayne is looking to be in another late-season surge, and could lock up the starting gig in Houston if Green is placed on IR this week. Andre Johnson gets it done no matter the QB, keep him plugged in. Vince Young has finally come around to his potential, and is playing as a top 10 QB in the last 4 weeks, start him if your QB situation is shaky.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Manning's four TDs lead Colts past Jags, give team cushy AFC South lead

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Once again, this game is evidence that Peyton Mannings #1 receiver is practically uncoverable no matter who it is. Reggie Wayne had 158 yards and a TD, and Dallas Clark added 2 more TD's for Manning's great day. Addai surprisingly had no catches, and only 67 yards, but expect him to have an impact during the fantasy playoffs. Garrard was his usual consistent self, though he threw his first INT of the season. The best Jaguars receivers remain Reggie Wiliams and Dennis Northcutt, though Marcedes Lewis came out and had a really nice game with 5 receptions for 42 yards and a TD. Ernest Wilford had 72 yards receiving, but he isn't consistent enough to help much in fantasy.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Jets make it an imperfect dozen for 0-12 Dolphins

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

The Jets' RBs went nuts, with Leon Washington rushing for 2 TD's and Thomas Jones adding another, but don't forget that the Jets are horrible and they have a first-year QB. Temper your expectations for the rest of the season. 3 of their final 4 games come against defenses that are playing well, so don't pick up any Jets players. Miami is truly a disaster, and they have no fantasy relevancy especially now that they're starting a rookie QB. They are averaging 8 points a game for the last 5 games, which is not going to help anyone.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Chargers use old formula -- L.T. and D -- to handle Chiefs

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Kolby Smith did a decent job filling in for LJ, with 83 yards rushing. Other than that, the only bright spot for KC was Tony Gonzalez, who is a no-brainer weekly starter anyway. His 140 receiving yards kept the Cheifs in the game for the first half, but ultimately LT proved too strong with 177 rushing yards and 2 TD's. Vincent Jackson rewarded those who have been faithful enough to start him this late in the season with a TD, but when Philip Rivers completes only 10 passes, are any Chargers receivers worth starting? Not really, aside from Antonio Gates, who had negative receiving yards in the game. That is an anomaly - he should continue to start.

Game Recap: Tatupu's three picks doom Eagles, lift Seahawks to fourth straight win

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Matt Hasselbeck had a decent day with 187 yards and 2 TD's (1 INT), but not quite what he's been putting up lately. He's still a solid weekly play, though, and their remaining schedule is a joke. They could easily end up 11-5 or even 12-4 with a victory against a mediocre Arizona team, making them seem like a good team - but they are not. Shaun Alexander and Maurice Morris had nealy identical stats (only 1 rushing yard difference and each with a TD), but Alexander had 4 times as many carries. You have to wonder how healthy he is, after all the injuries he's been through. If Holmgren continues to give Alexander that many chances to prove he's over the hill, expect the passing stats to suffer. On the Eagles side, the QB situation is a mess, and Westbrook and Kevin Curtis are really the only viable options.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Panthers finally make themselves at home, blow out 49ers

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

DeAngelo WIlliams and DeShaun Foster both looked good in this game, and if Testaverde can stay healthy enough to keep the pressure off the running game, they are both in marginal consideration for starting. However, remember that they were playing the Niners, who are about to give a lottery pick to the Cheatriots. Neither QB in this game is worth much, and don't count on either one getting much better stats than he got in this game because both defenses are struggling. Frank Gore's flash of brilliance last week was followed with 111 total yards, and you should feel comfortable starting him because of his big-game potential. Arnaz Battle is the only other Niner worth mentioning as a solid play, with 51 yards and a TD.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Turnovers doom Browns as James, Cardinals hold off Cleveland

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Just when you thought the Browns had turned a corner, they lose to another team that is waiting to turn the corner in the Cardinals. Derek Anderson threw for 2 TD strikes on the day and focused most of his targets at Braylon Edwards. KWII had minimal impact on the day. For the Cards, Warner was limited due to injuries to Fitzgerald and Boldin. The injury to Boldin appears to be significant and may cause him to miss the rest of the season. In his place Byant Johnson should step in and play a quality fantasy role. A good acquisition if you need a WR. Also, expect a bump to Edgerrin James' numbers with injuries to the WR corps.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Russell debuts, but McCown leads Raiders past Broncos

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Although he was booed, Josh McCown ended the game with 3 passing TDs in a convincing win over the bi-polar Denver Broncos. It is noteworthy that Jamarcus Russell got to play two drives in the game and may see increased playing time as the Raiders reach playoff extinction. Lil Huggy (Justin Fargas) had another huge game and should continue to make Lamont Jordan invisible to the fantasy radar. For the Broncos, Javon Walker is being brought back very slowly and may not have fantasy impact this season as he continues to recover from his knee injury.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Manning redeems himself, leads comeback to sting Bears

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

The recipe for beating the Bears is not too complicated. You merely keep the ball out of Devin Hester's hands and your chances of winning are very good. Cut short in a great performance in the game was Derrick Ward, who suffered a broken fibula and will miss the rest of the season. For the Bears on the ground, the "other" Adrian Peterson rumbled for a combined 149 yards and was a very nice contributor. Expect similar performances throughout the remainder of the season.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Bucs in perfect position in NFC South after late Saints mistake

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

I'll say it...Reggie Bush can't carry the load for an offense. It has become apparent to anyone that watches a Saints game that the Reg is better when his opportunities are mixed in the offense. He seems to be much more explosive. Filling in for an injured Jeff Garcia, Luke McCown arose from the ashes to throw for 300+ yards and 2 TDs. Ernest Graham is clearly making the most of his opportunity and is rushing very well. The Michael Bennett acquisition is looking very insignificant these days.

Game Recap

Game Recap: Ward sets franchise mark, paces Steelers past Bengals

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

Its a good thing the Bengals get stopped at the 1 yard line sometimes because Rudi Johnson owners would get NO value from him without the occasional garbage TD. Kenny Watson should clearly be getting all of the carries these days. One note about the Bengals offense that is not being mentioned enough is the lack of quality on the offensive line. Looks like the loss of Eric Steinbach to the Browns has hurt the Bengals quite a bit (while similarly helping the Browns).

Game Recap

Game Recap: Brady hits Gaffney to save Pats' undefeated season

Game Center: Click here

Fantasy Impact

In a game that the Ravens had in the bag, the team (and the refs) gave the game away to the still undefeated New England Patriots. I had to look at it several times but Kyle Boller actually outplayed Tom Brady...I know....its mind boggling. The player of the game was Willis McGahee who ran like a man possessed through the Pats D. One thing appears to be evident and that is that teams may have found a blueprint to beating the Pats. Expect the games for the rest of the season to be closer contests than earlier in the season.
