Game Recap: Bills run roughshod over sinking Bengals Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
I'm not kidding...JP Losman had a good game in week 9. Of course, he was playing arguably the worst pass D in the NFL. When Buffalo is scoring 33 points, you know a D is BAD. Also for Buffalo, Marshawn Lynch and Lee Evans had huge games. Carson Palmer looked solid in the game but suffered a big blow in losing Chad Johnson on a bad looking neck injury. We will keep you posted on Johnson's status as we hear more. The Cincy run game was Ravens-esque (pathetic) and Rudi Johnson has been one of the fantasy disappointments of the season. |

Game Recap: Lions maul Broncos, nearly hand Denver first shutout defeat since '92 Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
In a rout of Denver, the Lions had nice performances from Jon Kitna, Kevin Jones, and Shaun MacDonald. Roy Williams came up small in the game as well as standout rookie Calvin Johsnon. The win was a team effort with the D chipping in for 2 TDs, including a Shaun Rodgers fumble recovery in which he stiff armed Selvin Young into the ground. It was incredible. For the Broncos, Jay Cutler was hurt early in the game and Patrick Ramsey was called into actionand did a decent job. Most of his targets were to Brandon Marshall. The running game for Denver was terrible and was largely not utilized due to the way that Detroit jumped out in the game. On a side note, Denver could easily be 0-8 this season if a total of 3 plays had turned out differently. That is not a good sign for Broncos fans. |

Game Recap: Favre-Jennings connection helps Packers pull out late win over Chiefs Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
He's old but he can still chuck the ball around. Brett Favre targeted Donald Driver, Greg Jennings (2 TDs), and Donald Lee often in the game. Ryan Grant was also given 19 opportunities to carry the ball for the Pack and ended up with 55 yards rushing and 37 in the air. KC had good performances from LJ and Tony Gonzalez, however, they suffered a big blow in the game with losing LJ to injury. He may miss anywhere from 2 weeks to the season. There are conflicting reports as to the seriousness of the injury. Priest Holmes will fill in for LJ in his absence. |

Game Recap: Brees torches Jags for 445 yards, Saints win fourth in row Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Brees looks to be in full 2006 form, passing for 445 yards and 3 TD's with no INT's. Hopefully you traded for him when the time was right because his owners won't be letting him go. In an unexpected twist, Quinn Gray also threw for over 300 yards, but don't get too excited about him - the Saints defense blew enough coverages for any NFL quarterback to have a great day. There's also no doubt Garrard will retake the starting job when he gets healthy. The Jags' receivers also benefited from the poor New Orleans secondary, and what you should learn from this game is that quarterbacks and receivers playing against the Saints are great for a spot start. |

Game Recap: Peterson breaks rushing mark (296) as Vikes whip Chargers Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
It's official - barring injury, Adrian Peterson is the Rookie of the Year, both for the NFL and in fantasy. He now has 1036 yards and 8 TD's in 8 games, with another receiving TD to boot. He's also leading all RB's in yards per carry, TD's, and total yardage. Peterson single handedly made everyone else on the field seem irrelevant, and at least in the fantasy world, they were. The only other major note to this game was Antonio Cromartie's NFL record 109-yard TD on a missed FG return, which went the maximum length possible from end zone to end zone. Minnesota's QB's are untouchables, and Philip Rivers has looking very pedestrian in the last few weeks. LT had a disappointing week (only 1 TD), but he is still capable of fantasy magic and his owners have no choice but to keep starting him. |

Game Recap: Game not canceled due to lack of interest: Falcons top 49ers Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Warrick Dunn had a 100 yard game with a TD to boot, showing that he isn't done in the fantasy world. Against a team as bad as SF, he can be a good spot start (St. Louis in 4 weeks could be a good one). Roddy White had 55 yards receiving, and Vernon Davis accounted for over half of Alex Smith's yardage with 77 yards. Both quarterbacks are not fantasy worthy, in any situation. Maurice Hicks had San Fransisco's only TD, and if Frank Gore is out much longer he may be worth a FA pickup. |

Game Recap: Suisham caps Portis' big day with OT winner vs. Jets Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Clinton Portis had a day that made you think he was still playing for Denver, with 196 yards and a TD. It's hard to imagine that would leave him 100 yards short of the day's leading rusher, but Adrian Peterson is really that good. Kellen Clemens had a decent day with 226 yards and a TD, and his favorite target was Jerricho Cotchery with 90 yards. Clemens is worth a bench spot if you're short at QB, as he seems far more consistent than Pennington despite his inexperience. Leon Washington had his 3rd kick return TD, making him extremely valuable in leagues that award points for return yardage. With Thomas Jones having an unimpressive season (49 yards this week), Washington could see an increase in carries as well. |

Game Recap: Lewis scores four times as Browns squeak past Seahawks in OT Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Jamal Lewis rushed 20 times for 37 yards and...4 TD's? He had two 2 yard TD rushes and two 1 yard TD's. Go figure, but don't jump on the Lewis bandwagon because he has had 2 good games this season and the rest have been mediocre. Despite getting no TD's, Derek Anderson passed for 364 yards, with a single INT. Matt Hasselbeck performed well, with 318 yards, 2 TD's, and 1 INT. Shaun Alexander played like garbage again, and if Maurice Morris is available in your league, grab him because he had more yards than Alexander this week (with a 6.1 yard average). Bobby Engram played like a champ, with 139 yards receiving and a TD. |

Game Recap: Rosenfels' late heroics lift Texans past lowly Raiders Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
In the anti-game of the century we saw another Ahman Green scratch which led to another Ron Dayne start. But wait, Dayne actually did something of value with his first 100 yard game of the season since Week 16 in 2006. Green doesn't look to be healthy this season, so Dayne could become the man once again for Houston in the stretch. Andre Johnson should return this week which means Kevin Walter's numbers will take a hit (even moreso since Schaub and Rosenfels aren't adding any consistency to the QB position there). In O-Town, McCown and 'Pepp have both been truly horrible, opening the door for Jamarcus Russell to possibly get some playing time at the end of the season. Justin Fargas has continued to perform, and Lamont Jordan is now looking like a casualty of the 2007 season. |

Game Recap: Brady leads fourth-quarter rally in Indy as Pats remain unbeaten Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
The game of the centruy lived up to the hype and all of your usual suspects chipped in their fair share of points. If you have a player on either of these teams, start them without question (unless their name is Marvin Harrison, in which case you will continue to tease a return to the field and take a valuable roster spot for weeks on end). Joseph Addai was the true star of this one, and he will single handedly propel many teams to the playoffs this year especially when the weather gets nasty and the Colts air game is forced to the ground. Sammy Morris was placed on the IR after this one, but who know what than means for NE's RB situation. At least there's a small glimmer of hope for some meaningful production from Maroney this year. |

Game Recap: Romo, Owens star for Dallas as Philly's miserable year continues Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
It wasn't a pretty sight for Eagles fans. But even though they were blown out and shown up courtesy of TO's 174 yard and 1 TD performance, McNabb and Westbrook had their typical decent fantasy days. Both looked healthy and productive which is all you can ask for from them. Marino the Barbarian and Julius Jones are stil splitting nearly 50-50 on the carries, but Barber has a knack for the tough yards and getting into the endzone, making him a better start from week to week. Romo has been golden, and has already earned most of that big raise he got last week with another 3 TD game. Witten made up some ground on gates as the #1 TE, and will probably be the 2nd TE taken next year in many drafts. |

Game Recap: Coming soon... Game Center: Click here |
Fantasy Impact |
Baltimore looks like a reincarnation of Oakland's 2006 offense, where no one is worthy of a fantasy roster spot. McNair is a disaster, McGahee has been invisible, Heap has been injured, and the defense is playing with such a short field it's laughable. On the other side of the field, Big Ben has been spectacularly efficient, Santonio Holmes has surpassed all expectations, Willie Parker continues to rack up yards (although it was a sloppy field in this one which kept the running game limited here), and the defense has been near impregnable. Kyle Boller might get the nod, but it seems that this Ravens team is headed in the opposite direction thet Pittsburgh is, in fantasy production and the chase for the playoffs. |
