TOP FREE AGENT PICKUPS

Quarterback

Player

Rationale

Trent Edwards
Buffalo Bills

Coming off a very solid perforance against the Miami Dolphins, Edwards faces another cupcake D this weekend with the Cleveland Browns. Expect another multiple TD performance from the youngster.

Sage Roselfels
Houston Texans

On paper the matchup for this weekend's game is not optimal but the Broncos are giving up 1.5 TDs per contest to QBs. Add in a 3 TD performance to Rosenfels last weekend and you are looking at a decent fantasy play if you need a spot start.

Running Back

Player

Rationale

Samkon Gado
Miami Dolphins

With Jessee Chatman looking like he will either miss or playa limited role in teh gae this weekend, expect Gado to be the main ball carrier against the Ravens. With limited options on offense, Gado could get some endzone looks in the red zone.

Darius Walker
Houston Texans

Undrafted Rookie RBs don't normally get to start in the NFL but that just goes to show you how bad the RB situation is in Houston. Walker could have some value however as the Texans will face a poor rush D in the Denver Broncos.

Wide Receiver

Player

Rationale

Anthony Gonzalez
Indianapolis Colts

Gonzo stepped up big time last week and had 130+ and 2 TDs. With Harrison looking like he is being worked back VERY slowly, Gonzo could be an impact player for the rest of the fantasy season.

Shaun McDonald
Detroit Lions

After losing Roy Williams to an injury, the Lions looked to McDonald 8 times last week and will continue to utilize him with Calvin Johnson looking like he is not ready to be a #1 WR.

Tight End

Player

Rationale

Mercedes Lewis
Jacksonville Jaguars

Not needed much in last weeks blowout win, Lewis will be depended on more this week against a tough WR defending team in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Was targeted often in the previous 2 weeks.

Defense/Special Teams

Player

Rationale

Baltimore Ravens

Despite being torched last weekend, the Ravens still have a talented defense and should cause problems for the Dolphins, who turned the ball over 3 times last week, gave up 4 sacks, and a defensive TD.
