Quarterback

Player |
Rationale |
 |
Daunte Culpepper
Oakland Raiders |
The people are clammoring for Pep to be the starter. I say give them what they want. He is inline to possibly start against the Dolphins this weekend so a little revenge may be in order. Not the greatest matchup but I love playing guys when they have a chip on their shoulder (see Steve Smith EVERY week).

 |
Brian Griese
Chicago Bears |
We all saw it coming and now it's here. Grossman has been benched and Griese is the man in Chicago. In his last time as a full time starter Griese's numbers were pretty good. He threw for just under 70% completion. Don't expect any huge numbers but he is a solid NFL QB.

Running Back
| |
Player |
Rationale |
 |
Kevin Jones
Detroit Lions |
The Tatum Bell era is offically over. Kevin Jones is back and will be logging a vast majority of the playing time. He is available in many leagues and should be grabbed before it's too late. |
 |
Brian Leonard
St Louis Rams |
Steven Jackson's groin tear will leave him out at least 1 week, so if you are looking for a week #4 RB (and possibly beyond), Leonard could be a decent fill in for you. Be warned, the STL O-line is in shambles. |
 |
Aaron Stecker
New Orleans Saints |
With Deuce down, Reggie Bush will have to step up and take on the role as the primary back in the Big Easy. Bush hasn’t shown he can do that yet, so Aaron Stecker is a decent pickup to stow away on your bench. He’s an excellent receiver out of the backfield, and can make guys miss when running the ball. It’s still yet to be determined how the Saints will use him exactly, but he is sure to be featured more prominently now

Wide Receiver

Player |
Rationale |
 |
Dwayne Bowe
Kansas City Chiefs |
Somebody has to get the ball thrown their way right? Seriously, Bowe has been a decent play in the last few weeks since Eddie Kennison got injured. He has been targeted 5.6 times per game for 45 YPG and 0.67 TD per game. |
 |
Roddy White
Atlanta Falcons |
Roddy White was the biggest beneficiary of Joey Harrington’s best game of the year (7 catches, 127 yards, 1 TD). Joey isn’t going to have that kind of week every week, but he clearly showed a connection with White that isn’t seen with the other Falcons receivers. With his last performance, White may have just got himself a starting job in Atlanta as he is the only WR doing anything of value on Sundays. |
Tight End
| |
Player |
Rationale |
 |
Jeff King
Carolina Panthers |
He’s not going to be your every week TE by any means, but Jeff King has slowly come along this season as Jake Delhomme’s backup plan if Steve Smith is covered. If you’re looking for a bye week fill-in at TE in a deeper league, you can count on him to snag about 4 catches for 40-50 yards and a couple of red zone targets.

Defense/Special Teams
| |
Player |
Rationale |
 |
Green Bay Packers |
By all accounts this team should be considered a quality defense. They have a 5$ matchup this week with the Vikings who are struggling to put points on the board. |
