2007 Season Buy Em'/Sell Em' List - Week #3

Published on 9/19/07 by Mike Carter and Renard Dabney

The Buy Em' / Sell Em' is a piece we run each week that helps you to identify players that you should trade for (Buy Em') and those players that you should try to trade away (Sell Em'). You can really improve your roster throughout the season if you can buy low and sell high, just like the stock market. So check back here each week for a list of players that are prime targets to be bought and sold.

Rationale

1

Devin Hester

Hester is just as good as he was last year, and basically won the game for his team last week with a punt return TD and another long return to set up a field goal.  If your league gives points for return yards, Hester will be a monster pickup.

2

New England Patriots Offense

The New England offense is going nuts this year, and there is no reason to think they will slow down.  Get your hands on their players, if you can.  Oh, and their defense is pretty good too.

3

Cedric Benson

Benson answered the claim that he was soft in Week 1 by rushing for 101 yards in Week 2.  Chicago's defense is good enough to keep them in the game all the way through, meaning Benson will continue to get carries all through games.

4

Jon Kitna

Kitna passed for over 4,000 yards last year, and through 2 games has over 500 yards and 4 TD's.  Mike Martz knows how to use his offensive weapons, and Kitna has a plethora of quality wide receivers to spread the ball to.

5

Jason Elam

If PK's got a bonus for last second, game-winning field goals, this guy would be worth a high pick on draft day.  They don't, but Elam has proven himself to be clutch and consistent enough to help your fantasy team.

Rationale

1

Drew Bennett

The school of thought was that Isaac Bruce was just about finished, but it just isn't so. Get rid of this guy if you've been one of the ones waiting for him to explode. He's a bust.

2

Brandon Jackson

If you're using him as a starter, you probably already are trying to trade him. Deshawn Wynn is taking his spot.

3

Deuce McAllister

I just traded him off of my team, I just don't see any reason to keep him on the roster, especially starting, at this point.

4

Alex Smith

You'll be hard pressed to find a trade partner for him, but he is a starter. Always remember there's a fantasy team worse off than yours.

5

Donovan McNabb

He has no receiving talent, and it showed against the Redskins. Reggie Brown seems to have regressed. Unless they make a trade, Mcnabb will have a subpar passing season.
